NH SBDC Honors Seacoast Region Director Ed Miles as 2025 State Star

Liz Gray and Ed Miles

The NH SBDC is proud to announce that Ed Miles, Seacoast Regional Director/Interim North & Central RD, has been named the 2025 NH SBDC State Star. He was honored alongside his peers from across the country at a special reception during the 46th Annual America’s SBDC Conference at Walt Disney World on September 2nd.

The America’s SBDC State Star Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exemplary performance, make significant contributions to their networks, and show an unwavering commitment to the success of small businesses. State Stars are nominated by their peers and selected by State Directors, making the honor a true reflection of the respect and admiration of colleagues.

Ed’s work exemplifies what it means to be a State Star. He approaches every client meeting with empathy, optimism, and practical advice, always meeting business owners where they are. Whether helping entrepreneurs launch a new venture, guiding established companies through growth, or supporting succession planning, Ed ensures clients walk away with clarity, resources, and a clear path forward. For him, a packed calendar is not a burden but an opportunity: “Six meetings on my schedule means six chances to make a difference in the state.”

After a career in the private sector, Ed was drawn to NH SBDC by its mission-driven focus and measurable impact on small businesses. As Seacoast Regional Director, he not only advises business owners but also builds lasting relationships with community stakeholders to strengthen the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

At the heart of Ed’s work is a simple goal: to know he helped a client take the next step in their business journey. His recognition as the NH SBDC State Star is a testament to his dedication to New Hampshire’s small businesses and the vital role they play in driving the state’s economy.

Congratulations to Ed Miles on this well-deserved honor!
