Business Advisor - North & Central NH (posted 8/18/25): 

The New Hampshire Small Business Development Center (NH SBDC), an outreach program of the UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business & Economics, is seeking a part-time business advisor to work approximately 25-35 hours per week in Coos, Grafton, and Belknap Counties. The advisor will provide business management consulting to small to medium size businesses throughout the region in collaboration with other SBDC advisors. This is an opportunity to apply practical and creative solutions to business problems through one-on-one counseling while promoting growth and sustainability measured through sales, profit, jobs and capital generation to NH companies.

Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a non-benefited, adjunct position.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the North and Central Regional Director, provide management advising and technical assistance to county businesses; identify and analyze business issues; develop and implement solutions in a timely manner, conduct research using public and private resources, help clients develop business, financing and marketing plans, track and report information; perform administrative tasks as required.  Network with business and community leaders, lending institutions, the technology community and economic development professionals.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred. 
  • Equivalency by training and experience considered. 
  • Ideal candidate will have a diverse business background including small business ownership or experience with management consulting to small businesses; be well versed in office/business technology applications, low-cost online business management apps, social media and best practices in e-commerce; and have strong financial analysis, computer and data base management skills.
  • This candidate should be able to create a strong network and work well in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A solid knowledge of how to integrate technology, including AI tools, into small business operations.
  • Familiarity with NH businesses and prior volunteer or work experience with NH economic development programs in Sullivan and Grafton Counties.
