With guidance from the NH SBDC, Olivia Hebert turned an unexpected career change into a thriving medical aesthetics business in downtown Concord. Working with advisor Janie Wang, Olivia developed a business plan, secured financing, and built a strong foundation for growth. Today, just one year after launching The Olive Branch Medspa, she is expanding her client base and working toward becoming a full-time entrepreneur.

When the medical aesthetics practice where registered nurse Olivia Hebert worked suddenly closed, she faced an unexpected decision. She could return to a traditional nursing role or build something of her own. Knowing she wanted to continue helping clients feel confident while educating them about their care, Olivia chose entrepreneurship.
While exploring what it would take to start her own business, Olivia found the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center. Her first meeting with advisor Janie Wang confirmed she didn't have to navigate entrepreneurship alone.
Together, they developed a comprehensive business plan and connected with lending partners to secure financing. Janie also introduced Olivia to resources that helped her establish bookkeeping systems through LeAF, implement QuickBooks, and explore marketing opportunities, including Google Ads.
Their first meeting also gave Olivia the confidence she needed to move forward.
"In three weeks, you need to decide. Are you doing this?" Janie challenged her.
That simple question helped Olivia stop second-guessing herself and commit to building the business she had envisioned.
Today, The Olive Branch Medspa is a welcoming destination in downtown Concord for clients seeking personalized medical aesthetics and wellness services. Olivia offers injectables, medical-grade skincare, facials, chemical peels, vitamin injections, and IV hydration therapy. What truly sets her apart is her commitment to patient education.
Many clients arrive feeling nervous, especially those new to aesthetic treatments. Olivia takes time to explain every procedure, discuss expected results, review pricing, and answer questions before any treatment begins. Her goal is to ensure every client feels informed, comfortable, and confident in their decisions.
Although Olivia continues to work occasional per diem nursing shifts, her goal is to transition to running The Olive Branch Medspa full time by the end of the year. With a growing client base and room to expand, she is excited about what comes next.
