The Peanut Butter Glow Up
Backyard Peanut Butter started with a simple question. Founder Noah Fisher was sitting outside with his wife, eating peanut butter and jelly, when he wondered why something so widely loved still felt so boring.
That moment sparked more than curiosity. It kicked off late night experiments, unexpected flavor combos, and eventually a business. As Noah began testing creations at home, he connected with the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center to help turn the idea into something real. By April 2023, the business was incorporated. Less than a year later, he left his corporate job to go all in.
Peanut butter, reimagined
Forget smooth or crunchy. Backyard Peanut Butter is built on a maximalist approach to flavor, where every jar is designed to surprise.
We’re talking Dill Pickle. Mexican Hot Chocolate. Bold, playful combinations that turn a familiar staple into something entirely new. These are not subtle twists. They are full sensory experiences.
Noah’s goal is simple. Make food more fun. Whether it’s a sandwich, a dessert, or a spoon straight from the jar, each product is meant to spark curiosity and a little bit of joy.
A stronger path with SBDC support
In 2025, Noah began working closely with NH SBDC advisor Ed Miles. What started as a question about finding production space quickly turned into an ongoing partnership.
“Ed has been an awesome sounding board for me, and an amazing accountability partner,” Noah says.
That partnership helped shift Noah’s mindset around growth. Instead of waiting until everything felt perfectly in place, he started going after opportunities with more confidence.
“He pushes me out of my comfort zone,” Noah says. “I land further away from where I would have started, in a good way, taking bigger swings and pursuing opportunities I might have held back from before.”
Through the SBDC, Noah also connected with an advisor experienced in e-commerce food brands, helping him refine his website, pricing, and overall sales strategy.
Looking ahead
Backyard Peanut Butter is now growing its presence in specialty shops while building momentum online. Social media, especially TikTok, is becoming a key space to showcase new flavors, tell the brand story, and connect with customers who are ready for something different.
With continued support from the NH SBDC, Noah is scaling both the brand and the business while staying true to what started it all.
No more boring peanut butter!
Backyard Peanut Butter exists for people who believe food should be fun. Every jar is a chance to push boundaries, try something unexpected, and turn an everyday staple into something memorable.
So go ahead. Grab a spoon. This is peanut butter, reimagined.
