March 16th is National SBDC Day!
Join us in celebrating our work here in NH and across the nation. With nearly 1,000 locations across the country, SBDCs are in every community providing local businesses and entrepreneurs with the resources they need to succeed.
SBDC Day celebrates the collective impact and success SBDCs have across the nation and in local communities each year. It is a national, collective proclamation of the impact America’s Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) have on the success of our nation’s dreamers, innovators, and doers – America’s small businesses.
America’s SBDCs provide measurable economic results. In 2021 SBDCs helped generate: 71,399 jobs, $7.6 billion in sales growth; $6 billion in financing; and started 18,691 new businesses, proving once again that SBDCs are leaders in job creation and economic growth.

Accreditation
SBDCs must participate in a rigorous Accreditation process every five years. In 2021, NH SBDC developed a self study guide, hosted an Accreditation team (via Zoom) for a week, and recently was accepted by the Accreditation Committee as having successfully passed Accreditation, with no conditions. We are so proud of our team and our organization!
NH SBDC's 2021 Impact Report
SBDC advised and trained 4.483 businesses in 2021. Our business advisors helped them raise $49.2 in new capital and create and save 1,848 jobs in New Hampshire. Read more about our clients and partners, and about the impact SBDC and our clients have in the Granite State in our 2021 Impact Report.
U.S. SBA visits NH SBDC
We celebrated #SBDCDay with SBA Regional Administrator Mike Vlacich and SBA NH District Director Amy Bassett by visiting our host institution, the University of New Hampshire, and two clients, Holly Philbrick from Emery Farm in Durham and Stefan Claesson from Nearview in Portsmouth. We were so pleased to share collaborative projects and clients' stories with our SBA representatives!
We met at the Forge at UNH to talk about partnerships between SBDC and programs on campus: Business Analytics Center, Voice Z Digital, FOSTER (SBIR), and Business in Practice.
SBDC client Stefan Claesson from Nearview told us about this drone and the others that help map seaweed beds on the coast of Maine, among other environmental scans. Nearview staff then turns the data into useful information that is utilized for planning and analysis.
SBDC client Holly Philbrick from Emery Farm gave us a tour of the cafe and market, and the greenhouse, blueberry picking fields and thriving beehives!
