Scott Stephens works with NH SBDC clients in Belknap and Grafton Counties, aiding them with his extensive background in management, marketing, sales, design, manufacturing, and hospitality. Scott is also co-facilitator for the Apex Accelerator program, offered in conjunction with Plymouth State University. The Apex Accelerator is a full immersion strategic series of seminars featuring applied experiential learning focused on rapid business optimization and new venture creation.
Prior to joining NH SBDC in 2015, Scott served as executive director of the Central NH Chamber of Commerce after its formation by the uniting of five chambers in the area that included the Plymouth Regional Chamber of Commerce, which Scott had previously led for 5 years. Scott had also teamed up with his wife to co-own and run the B&B Colonel Spencer Inn in Campton, NH, which they restored and ran for 11 years, selling it in 2017. Previous to this experience, Scott started a graphic design and marketing company, transformed business turnarounds and managed design, marketing, and sales for a cabinet design firm and a custom ornamental ironworks fabrication shop. Scott also held multiple creative positions in publishing, including art director for Organic Gardening magazine.
In his community, Scott was the founding co-director of Leadership Central NH, an organization developed to cultivate civic awareness and engagement among existing and emerging leaders within the Central NH region. Currently, he is a Board Trustee for the Mayhew Program, which challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best selves. Scott is a graduate of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where he earned a BFA.
