Lynn Dion, a professionally trained pastry chef, has been crafting extraordinary cakes in New Hampshire for more than 20 years. In 2001 she ventured out on her own and founded Sweet Cierra’s. Her mission is to give her clients custom, one- of-a-kind, personalized cakes, made with the freshest ingredients to ensure each cake looks beautiful and tastes great.

Lynn’s passion for simple, elegant and sometimes whimsical wedding & special occasion cakes is also evident in her signature cakes for local area restaurants and corporate events. All Sweet Cierra’s cakes are fresh, never frozen, and are individually designed and crafted to fulfill each customer’s dream. Rich Dutch chocolate is always a favorite, Sweet Cierra’s white almond cake is “to die for”, and red velvet is the new trendy favorite.

Lynn steadily grew her business for eight years working out of her home. In 2009 she realized her business was growing too large to be home-based and she moved into a space at the Waumbec Mill building, Manchester.

In 2010, Lynn turned to Manchester’s NH SBDC business adviser Andrea O’Brien for advice and guidance in pursuing her desire to expand her business further. “Andrea and I spent hours together in her office developing a business plan we could present to potential lending institutions,” Lynn recalled.

Through her collaboration with Andrea and the NH SBDC, Lynn was able to secure financing from the City of Manchester’s Revolving Loan Fund to grow her business. The funding allowed Lynn to purchase some equipment and to increase her marketing efforts. These actions have proven to be successful as Sweet Cierra’s sales have tripled since moving into the Waumbec Mill location.
