Need A Business Plan?
Every business starting out needs to begin with a Business Plan. It is the foundation upon which your business will be built. A Business Plan gives your idea for a great product or service the concrete details that will help you get started and help you find financing for your business if you need it. It will then become a roadmap guiding you as you launch and grow your business.
A Business Plan helps examine the feasibility of your idea, assess your financial situation and assess your readiness for taking on the financial risk of a new business. A Business Plan will also help communicate the vision you have of this business to your management team, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders.
Developing a Business Plan is hard work. At the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center, we offer the following two ways to help you begin to develop your plan. You may also want to review our Tips for Writing a Business Plan for more ideas and resources.
Take Our E-Course: “Crafting A Business Plan"
As with all of our e-courses, “Crafting a Business Plan” is available whenever you need it. The course takes about 2.5 hours to complete and includes 135 slides that you can watch at your leisure. You can stop and re-start the course at any time. After completing the course, you may wish to meet with one of our NH SBDC Advisors.
Purchase “Business Plan Online”
You can purchase our online software program, Business Plan Online here for $49. Business Plan OnLine takes you through the process of writing and developing a Business Plan. It will help you write a thorough and accurate description of your business idea and develop a plan for financing your business. Once it is complete, your plan will remain online so that you can easily add updates.
In using this online tool, you will be asked to write 10 major points (the pitch) about your business idea. Then you will answer questions to give more details about your plans. Finally, you are given an Excel spreadsheet to fill in with your financial information. This spreadsheet will provide three years worth of balance sheets and a projected cash flow.
