The New Hampshire’s Basic Needs & Livable Wage 2006 research study reports the costs of basic needs budgets, including such items as child care, health care, and housing, for seven family types by county. Hourly and annual livable wages to cover the basic needs budgets are then calculated for each family type.
The study is intended to provide policy-makers, employers, non-profit organizations, and the general public with data on the cost of basic needs for families in New Hampshire and wages sufficient to pay for those needs. It does not advocate for any specific public policy.
